Bram Wilfong

Bram Wilfong has a 48-year history with the sport of lacrosse, during which time he wontwo Mann Cup Championships, emblematic of Canadian Senior Lacrosse supremacy. As aJunior ‘pick up’ from Brampton, Bram won his fi rst Mann Cup in 1968 with the PeterboroughLakers. In 1980 he won his second Mann Cup leading the Brampton Excelsiors to anexciting series win over New Westminster, B.C.

Bram played with the Brampton Excelsiors O.L.A. Jr. ‘A’ team from 1964-1970. Followinghis Junior ‘A’ career, he moved to the Senior Excelsiors where he played for the next 20years (1971 - 1990), with brief interruptions in 1974 to play with the Toronto Tomahawks,and in 1975 to play with the Boston Bolts.

In 1972 he won the Canadian Senior ‘B’ Championship ‘President’s Cup’ playing with Brampton. Healso helped the Brampton Excelsiors to the Ontario Lacrosse Association Senior Championships in1975, 1976, 1977, 1980 and 1981. During his playing career Bram won many league and Bramptonscoring awards, thereby positioning himself as one of the highest scoring lacrosse players in CanadianLacrosse Association history.

Bram was a player coach of the Senior Excelsiors for two years, and he also coached Junior ‘A’ & ‘B’Lacrosse in Brampton for fi ve years, winning ‘Coach of the Year’ honours in 1992.

Bram also played in the Brampton Minor Hockey system for 8 years. He coached various Representativeand House League teams for 15 years.
