Nominations

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame is to honour the history of sport in the City of Brampton and in particular those persons who have made outstanding contributions and achievements in the development of sport.

CATEGORIES:

There are four categories of membership into the City of Brampton's Sports Hall of Fame:

1. Athletes
2. Builders - all members other than athletes.
3. Veterans-may be either athletes or builders who have concluded their careers
4. Teams

DEADLINE FOR NOMINATION:

Nominations shall be received no later than 5:00pm on January 15th. of any calendar year for the upcoming Induction Banquet, or by the previous Friday if the 15th falls on a weekend.

ELIGIBILITY FOR INDUCTION:

Any person (defined to include a “team”) who is or has been distinguished as an athlete or as an executive member or coach, or who has brought honour to Brampton, shall be eligible for election as an Inductee into the Sports Hall of Fame, provided he or she was a resident of the City of Brampton, (or the former Village or Town of Brampton, or the former Township of Chinguacousy, or the former Township of Toronto Gore), at the time of the achievement, which is the focus for his or her consideration.

Criteria for Eligibility

INDUCTEE NOMINATION FORM:

Should you wish to nominate a person, please read the eligibility details above, and submit the nomination form below in accordance with the deadline for nominations. It is preferred that all persons submitting a nomination form include the signatures of the nominator and a member of the Selection Committee. Completed nomination forms can be mailed to the address shown on the form, or faxed to the Hall of Fame Secretary at (905) 874-2399.
