David Dash

David Archibald Dash has been actively involved with youth baseball in Brampton for thepast 40 years. He has served as an invaluable member of Brampton Minor Baseball inthe capacity of President from 1983 to 2000, Umpire-in-Chief from 1979 to 1982, andExecutive Member and coach since 1976. David has served Central Ontario Baseballas a Director, Vice-President and currently as its President. He has also served as aDirector for Baseball Ontario since 1998.

David's awards are numerous: The Paul Harris Fellowship Award (Rotary Club), BramptonCitizen’s Award, Government of Canada Certificate of Merit, the President’s Award(Brampton Minor Baseball Inc.), the Jack Campbell Award (Brampton Minor Baseball Inc.), andOutstanding Achievement Award by a Director (Baseball Ontario). David’s enormous contributionto youth baseball is recognized by Baseball Ontario and the Toronto Blue Jays with a trophy thatbears his name. This trophy is awarded at the annual Baseball Ontario/Toronto Blue Jays JuniorAll-Star Tournament.

As a coach in Brampton Minor Baseball Inc. he has guided several house league and rep teams totheir championships. Notwithstanding David’s fi rst love is baseball, he still found time to referee forBrampton Minor Hockey for ten years.

David was instrumental in the modifi cation and updating of the Community Group Affi liation Policy for allrecreation groups in Brampton, and in the formation of the Brampton Sports Alliance.
