FRED BACON
FRED BACON Fred Bacon, a lifelong resident of Brampton, joined the Brampton Lawn Bowling Club in 1955. In 1959, Bacon was a member of the Ontario Colts championship rink. Bacon, Gord McLean and Bill Anthony formed the Ontario trebles champions, also in 1959. Pairs Ontario and Canadian championships were added to Bacon’s honor list in 1978. During his career, Bacon, a keen competitor, has won several tournament titles at clubs across the province. Fred served as secretarytreasurer of the Ontario Lawn Bowling Association from 19791983, was appointed the OLBA’s vicepresident in 1984 and was named the provincial association’s president in 1985. He is a director of the Canadian Lawn Bowling Council, a qualified umpire and instructor of the game of Bowls. Inducted November 20, 1985
