Sami Jo Small
Sami Jo Small is a member of the Olympic Gold Medal winning CanadianWomen’s Hockey Team that competed at the 2002 Winter Olympic Gamesheld in Salt Lake City.
Sami Jo was also a member of the Canadian Women’s Hockey team that wonGold Medals at the World Championships in 1999, 2000 and 2001. Sami Jowas named Top Goaltender on the All-Star Team at the 1999 and 2000 Women’sWorld Hockey Championships.
Sami Jo backstopped the Brampton Thunder of the National Women’s Hockey League for twoseasons, 1999-2000 and 2000-2001. Prior to her time with the Thunder she attended StanfordUniversity where she played on the men’s hockey team until 1999. Sami Jo was named Pac-10Hockey Player of the Year in 1996 - 1997. She has been playing hockey since 1981 when shestarted in St. Vital, Manitoba, playing Midget “AAA” and Junior “B”.
Fully bilingual, Sami Jo is a graduate of Stanford University in Mechanical Engineering. Shealso plays inline hockey and is a former member of the National Junior Track and Field Team.Sami Jo was Team Captain at the Pan American Juniors and was a member of the StanfordUniversity Track Team from 1994 - 1998.
