Spence Mulholland
Following two years as a Convenor, Spence assumed the 1st Vice-Presidentposition of the Chinguacousy Girls Softball Association in 1973 and served inthis capacity for 3 years. In 1976, he was elected President and remained in thatposition for an unprecedented 5 year span. He acted as a Director for the 1stCanadian National Midget Girls Softball Championship, co-hosted by CGMSA andthe City of Brampton in 1980 and chaired the Labatt’s Canadian Senior Women’sSoftball Championship in 1993.
Spence accepted a Directorship in 1983 from the City of Brampton for the 1983 OntarioGames for the Physically Disabled, which was held in Brampton in that year. These gameshosted 375 athletes over a 4-day series of events. He was also Chairman of the 1986Canadian National Amputee Games hosted by the City of Brampton for 155 athletes over3 days of competition.
Spence was also an active referee for the Ontario Minor Hockey Association for 13 consecutiveyears dating from 1968 to 1980. He was one of a group of six individuals who successfullymade application to form the South Central Regional District for the Silver Stick InternationalCompetition where he served as an Executive Member and Referee-in-Chief for the initial10 years in Bramalea.
He also served as referee-in-chief, assistant referee-in-chief or other various positions on theChinguacousy Minor Hockey Association (CMHA) executive for 7 of these 13 years.
