Tom Phair

Tom Phair has excelled in the sport of lacrosse, “box” & “field”. He has been a memberof six Canadian National Field Lacrosse teams, including the 1988 Canadian Under 19Team and five Canadian National Mens Teams. As a member of the 1992 BramptonExcelsiors Majors, Tom was named Rookie of the Year in the Ontario LacrosseAssociation (OLA).

In London, Ontario, teams from 26 countries gathered for the 2006 World LacrosseChampionships. Tom helped Canada take home its 1st gold medal since 1978. In the final game,Canada dominated the extremely talented US team who had not lost in international lacrosse since1978, when Canada won the gold 17-16 in overtime.

Tom holds the record for most consecutive World Championship appearances by a player from anycountry with six. In addition to capturing the 1988 silver medal with the Canadian Junior NationalTeam, his appearances include Perth, Australia in 1990 (silver medal), Manchester, England in 1994(bronze medal), Baltimore, USA in 1998 (silver medal), Perth, Australia in 2002 (silver medal) andLondon, Ontario in 2006 (gold medal).

Tom played on several Mann Cup winning Brampton Major Excelsiors teams throughout his career,winning Mann Cups in 1992 & 1993.

Tom has lived most of his life in Brampton, leaving to play lacrosse in Vancouver andprofessionally in Buffalo, Philadelphia and Denver.
